Our family spent four nights at Pullman Sydney Hyde Park. The park-facing location, roomy two-bed accommodation and rooftop pool made it a practical base for exploring central Sydney.

Our four-night stay in April 2026
We stayed from 14 to 18 April 2026 after flying from Cairns to Sydney. With three family members and several bags, we wanted enough room for a longer city stay without moving hotels.

Crossing College Street put us directly in Hyde Park. We could start the morning beneath the trees, walk towards the city centre and return through the park instead of spending every trip beside busy roads.
The hotel is at 36 College Street. Its entrance and relationship to the park are easy to see on Google Maps.
St Mary's Cathedral and the Australian Museum are nearby, while Museum Station is within walking distance for trains around Sydney. Town Hall, the Queen Victoria Building and central shopping streets were also reachable on foot for us.

From our room, the trees of Hyde Park sat among the surrounding city buildings. The exact view depends on the room category and floor.
At ground level, Sydney Tower appeared between the park's trees as we walked back towards the hotel.

Our two-bed room on the 19th floor
Our room was on the 19th floor. The door opened into a long space leading directly towards the beds and window.
Inside, two beds, a desk near the window and enough floor area let us keep several suitcases without blocking the walkway.
The two beds worked for our family of three, but travellers should confirm both occupancy and bed size on the booking page. Similar-looking room categories can have different views and bedding.
A desk and chair gave us somewhere to charge cameras and phones, look over the next day's plans and keep smaller items away from the beds.
The desk sat beside the large window, so it also gave us a place to look over the city while organising the next day.
Our high-floor window looked across nearby buildings and brought plenty of daylight into the room. A Hyde Park view is tied to the room category and should not be assumed from the hotel name alone.
Coffee station and storage
Our room included a Nespresso machine, capsules, an electric kettle and cups. Having coffee in the room helped on mornings when we wanted to leave before sitting down for breakfast.
The capsules, cups and kettle were grouped on the counter near the entrance rather than taking up space around the beds.
The wardrobe contained hangers, bathrobes and a safe. Over four nights, using the storage kept frequently worn clothes and travel documents separate from our open suitcases.
Bathroom and bathtub in our room
Our bathroom had a large vanity, shower and bathtub. A bath was welcome after walking across central Sydney, although not every room necessarily has the same bathroom configuration.
The shower and bath shared one enclosed area. If a bathtub matters to you, request it and check that it appears in the facilities for your chosen room.
Heated rooftop pool and 24-hour gym
The rooftop pool was compact rather than resort-sized, but its city position made it memorable. We could swim while looking across Sydney's skyline and towards Sydney Tower.
The hotel currently lists the heated outdoor pool and sundeck as open from 6 am to 11 pm every day. The nearby rooftop gym is listed as open 24 hours.
A heated spa sat beside the main pool during our stay, with the central Sydney skyline behind it.
The recreation deck also includes a sauna. The hotel's current FAQ notes that its spa and lifts are undergoing upgrades, so check the latest hotel FAQ if those facilities or waiting times matter to your stay.
Lobby, restaurants and breakfast choice
The large lobby gave our family an obvious place to meet before leaving. Seating near reception was also useful when one person was ready before the others.
The open lobby connected the entrance, reception and guest seating clearly, so we always knew where to meet before leaving.
During our stay, a car-rental counter was also located farther inside. Travellers planning to use it should confirm its current operator and opening hours.
A water station near reception was useful when we returned from walking around the city.
The hotel has restaurants, a bar and room service. We chose a rate without breakfast because we wanted to visit cafés around Sydney, but an included breakfast may suit travellers who prefer to begin the day inside the hotel.
The property currently lists check-in from 2 pm and check-out by 11 am. It also says the front desk can store bags before check-in and after check-out, which can be useful on a full sightseeing day.
Walking into the CBD for dinner
One evening we walked from the hotel to Edinburgh Castle, a historic pub near Gadigal and Town Hall stations. We ordered steak and saw another side of central Sydney after dark.
