REX Lounge Sydney Airport T2 Review: Priority Pass and Breakfast
Before flying from Sydney to Cairns on Jetstar, we used Priority Pass to enter REX Lounge in Terminal 2. Here is what we found at breakfast, in the seating area and at the work desks.

From our Sydney hotel to Terminal 2
On 18 April 2026, we took a taxi from Pullman Sydney Hyde Park to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport. We told the driver we needed Domestic Terminal 2 for Jetstar JQ952 to Cairns.
The taxi dropped our family directly outside departures, which avoided changing trains with luggage. We checked the large T2 and Jetstar signs before entering.

Jetstar JQ952 check-in and security
Jetstar and Virgin Australia check-in areas filled much of the morning hall. We located the Jetstar self-service area before moving towards bag drop.
At the kiosk, we checked the passenger names, Cairns destination and flight number before completing the process.
The departures board showed JQ952 to Cairns at 10:30 from Gate 53 on our travel day. Times and gates can change, so use the flight number rather than relying on this photograph.
After security, shops and food outlets opened into the departures area. We followed the signs towards Gate G2 before continuing to the lounge.

Finding REX Lounge near Gate G2
The T2 REX Lounge is airside, after security, near Gate G2. We were flying Jetstar rather than Rex, but entered by showing our Priority Pass digital membership and same-day boarding passes.
Priority Pass currently lists this T2 lounge, while Rex also operates a newer lounge in T3. Those are different locations. Check the terminal, opening hours, guest charge and access restrictions in the Priority Pass lounge listing on the day you travel. Apron views and quiet seating
Single armchairs and small tables faced the windows, with parked aircraft visible across the apron. We could keep our hand luggage beside us and sit together away from the gate seating.
For our group, the main benefit was simply being able to stop walking, eat breakfast and let our parents rest before the flight to Cairns.
Work desks, power and WiFi
Partitioned work desks sat further along the windows. We could charge a laptop or phone and use the lounge WiFi for messages and arrival planning.
Desk availability depends on how busy the lounge is, so we would not depend on a particular seat for a long work session.
Breakfast: toast, cereal and yoghurt
The morning selection included bread, cereal, milk and yoghurt. It was a light continental breakfast rather than a large hot buffet.
A toaster, butter and spreads were available beside the bread, making it easy to take only a small portion before flying.
Food can change by time and date. Travellers who need a substantial breakfast should keep the terminal cafés as a backup.
Coffee, cold drinks and alcohol
The drinks station had a coffee machine, tea and milk. We made coffee and carried it back to the window seats.
A refrigerator held water, juice, soft drinks and yoghurt.
There was also a refrigerator for alcoholic drinks, but alcohol was not being served during our morning visit. The current lounge conditions say alcohol is available from 3 pm.
For our flight, water and coffee mattered more than the bar. Follow the staff instructions and current service times.
Was the Priority Pass visit worthwhile?
Our breakfast was toast and coffee. It was simple, but we did not need to find food and seats in separate parts of the terminal.
Whether the visit represents good value depends on how you receive Priority Pass, your annual fee, guest charges and how often you use eligible lounges. Check those costs before assuming entry is free.
